Updated December 2019
Four years later I have completed 227 Classpass classes! My list has totally changed so I wanted to update this post with my current favorite studios around town. I am always open to trying a new class so comment, dm or tweet me your favorite classes!
PS. Right now you can sign up and get 2 weeks FREE just use this link!
1. Transform Colorado
LaGree, is kind of like pilates but way harder. One of my favorite workouts, I go almost every Tuesdays @ Noon with G (She is the best!!)
2. Rebel Workout
I love their combo bike & bare classes. I love their spin classes because its a super small studio with great big skylights bringing in all the natural light and funky lights when it’s dark.
3. Endorphin (Broadway)
Indoor Cycling + Barre. I usually do the Monday night spin class and then pop in the upstairs studio for barre or yoga.
4. Hot Mamas
Any Class – I really loved every class I took here but hate that they moved out of wash park and up to Colfax – but will def do a few classes here on the weekends!
5. Pearl Street Fitness
HIT Class – Yall I was soooo scared to do an HIT Class but I really loved it and loved Pearl Street. I was sooo nervous but every class is super welcoming – everyone introduces themselves and then we all hi-five at the end! haha
6. Barre3 Highlands
Since moving to the highlands this is one studio I go to a lot. Barre classes are hard and its super welcoming. I usually do a noon class when I work from home.
Downtown Studios
There really are not that many downtown studios which I find pretty odd. Most are further into Lohi (near Denver Beer Co) or Ballpark which are not walking distance for me.
Transform is my go-to studio downtown. I also like Club Form Fitness’s Wednesday Barre From Class. It’s a heavy dance/cardio class that really burns. If I can’t find a class I will just do “Gym Time” at The Oxford Club near Union Station. It’s small but always empty, great if you just want to lift or do a quick run or bike.
When I joined ClassPass this past August, I challenged myself to try as many classes as possible near my house and office to see if it was really something I liked. Well, I loved it! Read more about why I switched here…
1. Fierce 45 – Full Body Workout
Update: Fierce45 I like you but you make it impossible to get a class on Classpass, I haven’t been able to get in, in over a year – boo
Hot damn this class is good. And by good I mean, you leave feeling like you just got your ass kicked but your endorphins are so high you can take on the world, just like Elle Woods. Fierce45 is a “Lagree Fitness” studio. This low impact but the high-intensity workout is performed on the Megaformer, a Pilates-like apparatus. If you love Pilates then you will love/hate the Megaformer and even if you have never tried Pilates I highly suggest you try it. Each class is 45 mins of slow, slow slowwww burn. I always leave feeling amazing and am so sore the next day, in the best way possible. Learn more about Fierce45 here.
2. Fluid Fusion – Slim Barre
Update: I have actually stopped going to this studio, I liked it at first but then meh and workouts during work hours are harder to commit to.
I took a Bar re class a few years ago and almost collapsed during the “Shake it girls” part. I knew it was a challenging and rewarding workout but hadn’t found a studio I loved. Fluid Fusion is located right off the 16th Street Mall and offers a variety of small group Pilates and Barre classes. They literally offer a class every hour. I love the Slim Barre class because of the mix of barre exercises and traditional ballet work. When I can get in touch with my 5th position tutu self, I feel like I enjoy the class way more and am not constantly checking the clock to see how much longer I have. I have also tried their reformer classes and aerial yoga! Learn more about Fluid Fusion here
3. Torch Pilates – Pilates Mat
This is by far the hardest group exercise class I have ever done. The class starts with three series of cardio-esk moves, I rarely make it to the third rep without a water break. You know when your watching tennis and they are all grunting or in yoga, they are saying to breathe out loud and grunt it out and you’re like ahh? Well, in this class it happened naturally. Everyone is grunting and sweating bullets. After your cardio circuits, its hardcore abs or legs then back to cardio then abs or legs and then don’t forget your 1000 variations of push-ups too. THIS CLASS WILL KICK YOU ASS I have never in my life been to a class with so many women grunting of pure exhaustion and it’s was pretty awesome. Learn more about Torch Pilates here.
4. Tru Fit – Hips and Hamstrings
Update: Sadly this class was canceled 🙁 I would love to find something like it!
If you read my previous post on quoting my film you know have plantar fasciitis and am basically tight all over 24 hours a day. This class is all about stretching your hips and hamstrings. I have loved every class and learning new ways to relax or revive my tired hips, hamstrings, quads, shins, and feet. TrueFit has lots of locations across Denver but this class is offered in the Downtown/Ritz Carlton location. Learn more about TruFit here.
5. Hot Mamas – Werk Me At The Bar
It’s like I have a knack for signing up for classes that kick my ass, which is kind of the point right!? I chose Werk It At The Bar as my first class and I worked it so hard I had to sit down. 1. bring water you will be thirsty. 2. Laugh its totally okay when everyone is dong leg kicks and arm weights that you can’t keep up… right everyone can’t keep up, right? They have a few studios around the city but I go to the Wash Park location off Logan. Learn more about Hot Mamas here.
