This Fall I was asked to demo the iPhone 7 from Verizon. As an Apple fan/nerd I follow all of their new tech releases carefully. Yes, sometimes these big iPhone releases feel like there isn’t really a difference but with the 7 there were some big changes and upgrades to our beloved iPhone. All of which make giving the iPhone 7 as a gift this holiday season soooo awesome.
First, its splash and water-resistant, FINALLY! Samsung’s and other smartphones have been touting their ability to take a swim for years. Get an iPhone wet and your doomed. Now your iPhone 7 can survive a push in the pool or a spilled coffee. When I demoed the phone I was on vacation at the beach so I put this to the test. 
We paired my iPhone 7 with my waterproof UE BOOM2 and took them out for a swim on a boogie board. Now this doesn’t mean you can SWIM with your phone just that if you get it wet, its cool. Technically, you can take it underwater but not for too long and no deeper than 3 feet (same with the UE BOOM2). Phish jams in ocean yes please! Photoshoot in the ocean YES PLEASE!
Speaking of photos, Apple made some major improvements to the iPhone 7 camera, including an upgraded flash, 12 megapixel camera and new optical zoom. With the iPhone 7 Plus you get two cameras a wide-angle and telephoto lens. For all the bloggers out there, portrait mode is your new best friend. This setting gives you that depth of field look typically only achieved with a real camera. Keeping your subject in focus and everything else out of focus.
The biggest noise the iPhone 7 made was the fact that there is no headphone jack. To make the iPhone 7 slimmer they needed to remove the jack. So how do you listen to your headphones? Either with Airpods or your regular headphones connected via the included adapter.
