For Memorial Day weekend, my best girlfriends and I head south to New Mexico. We had a proper girls trip in Taos complete with hiking, mud baths, cheese plates, shopping, selfies and absurd amounts of wine. We stayed in Toas Mountain Village but spent most of our time in the Valley. Saturday we attempted to shop and hike but instead just shopped and drank. After snapping selfies at the gorge bridge, a few of us sipped brewskis at Taos Mountain Brewing. This place is one of a kind with two outdoors stages and one indoor. The brewery sits back in the valley facing Taos and Taos Mountain giving it incredible views and amazing lighting at dusk.
Sunday was for relaxing, we soaked in the various natural hot springs at Oji Caliente and had a communal mud bath. The resort is beautiful so we hiked around after lunch and enjoyed rose and a cheese plate in the sun.
Our girls weekend was interrupted by a few of our guy friends also in town who joined us for happy hour at Taos Mountain Brewing. That night an incredibly impressive high school band played outside and while line dancing lessons were taking place inside.. After beers we headed to the icon Toas Mountain Inn for margaritas to celebrate our friends 28th birthdays.
Monday we got up early so that some girls could go mountain biking, the rest of us hiked the trail above town – which has great views of the valley. The drive back to Denver was beautiful – with the crazy weather we have been having the clouds were just spectacular all weekend. I even stopped to take a panoramic photo from the top of my car.
