Christmas cookies are my favorite cookies. Mostly because they are typically sugar cookies! I tried to branch out and find some creative holiday cookies and I think I have hit the jackpot with these! P has been baking up a storm recently and has really perfected the from scratch chocolate chip cookies. I hope to try these White Chocolate Dipped Ginger Cookies for Christmas!
If you are lucky, the house is decorated, presents have been bought and the Christmas cards have been mailed. Now it’s time to sick back, relax and enjoy a festive but yummy cocktail. If not, there is nothing like a boozy beverage and some Christmas music to get you through gift wrapping and family get togethers. Two of my favorite beverages have always been Margaritas and Apple Cider. As a kid we drank virgin margarita mix whenever my my parents had cocktail parties at the beach (is that weird?). Apple Sider and Sparkling Cider were always served for the holidays in my family too. So the combination of Apple Cider & Margarita – yes, please!
Although I live in the mountains, I am a beach person at heart. Throughout my childhood, we would spend Christmas at the beach, either in Blue Mountain (FL), Mexico or somewhere in the Caribbean. I have also, always loved beach decor, hence my love for shabby chic and everything in shades of blue. I love the idea of Christmas at the beach, even if it’s chilly you can walk the cold white sandy beaches and fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing outside your window. I will probably go with more traditional Christmas decoration at my house out here but I love the idea of seashell everything!
Thanksgiving is only a few days away! My family does a very simple and traditional Thanksgiving meal. Just turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and cranberry sauce. I love to pile them all on in one big bite, it is a delicious combination.

Halloween happens to be one of my favorite holidays. (I actually love every holiday, especially my birthday… Its May 12 FYI) My family used to go all out for Halloween. The entire front porch was decorated with goblins and giant witch my mom made. We even had ghost hanging from the trees in the front yard. So many good memories! Trick or treating with friends in matching costumes (valley girls and nerds), trying to avoid the dentist house because she only gave you toothbrushes (lame) and of course swapping candy at the end of the night. But, Halloween on Pinterest is awesome, Great costume ideas, easy decorating ideas and best of all Halloween treats! Here are a few of my Favorite I plan to test out of the next few weeks.

My Family and I love the 4th of July, especially my brothers who loved lighting fireworks and running away at the last possible second, giving my parents a heart attack. I have so many memories of being at the beach with family & friend’s watching fireworks, making puff paint t-shirts, eating hot dogs & oysters, and of course, having bottle rocket wars. From our beach house you could see miles in either direction. So while we enjoyed the fireworks in our little beach community we could also watch the shows from Destin to Panama City. At some point in high school I spent my first 4th away form the Blue Mountain and instead at Lake Burton. Booze cruises, giant boat parties and a 10 minute firework display shot off an island… not too shabby a way to spend the greatest holiday. This year the Yuppie Hustle and I will be spending the 4th at a friends ranch. Sadly, no fireworks in Colorado, but there is sure to be lots of American garb, hot dogs and ice-cold beer.
