Every summer I hit the road to go see Phish somewhere across the US. This year when the tour was announced we decided to visit some friends and family in DC and go to the shows at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Before moving to Denver I lived in DC for about two years so it was super fun to visit with friends and show Clay my old shopping grounds!
Dinner at Mintwood in Adams Morgan
The Line Hotel DC
My two best friends in DC live around Adamas Morgan so on Friday night we went for drinks at the new Line Hotel and then dinner at Mintwood. We made the genius decision to basically order one of everything to share – and it was all soooo amazing!
Being a Tourist around DC
This was clays first trip to DC so we were total tourist! Which was great because I honestly wasnt much of a tourist when I lived there! We hoped on city bikes and went from the White House all the way down the mall form the Lincoln Memorial to the Capital. I highly recomdedm getting a Capital Bikeshare its sucha an easy way to get around and see everything!
Phish Merriweather
On Saturday 15 of us hopped on a party bus and made the treck up to Merriweather. Our bus was sooo nice it had a fake fire place LOL! Since we had such a large group we found a spot on the lawn. Ideally, I’d watch the show from the pavilion which is 10000x better. Clay and I went inside for the second set which was killer. A small group of us went to the show Sunday night too. The shows were good, and it’s always a treat to see Phish but I am hoping that they really bring the heat at Dicks.
