So I have been meaning to post this guide for a while and now with our trip to Spain right around the corner I thought now is the time to do it! I love looking back at all these photos too. In 2018, we traveled to Italy for a college friend’s wedding that was so so fun then hit Bellagio and Cinque Terra before heading to Paris for 4 days. For us, four days was too long but we would rather be in the countryside, beach, mountains, etc so here are my favorite things we did while we were there.
Big Bus Tour Paris
Yep get on these big busses and cruise all over the city. Wake up early, grab a croissant and start your day. This is the quickest way to SEE all the sights, you can hop on and off so it’s super easy and convenient. We were hoping to climb to the top of the Arch Di Triumph but for some reason, it was closed when we were there. So we continued our ride to the Efile Tower and actually got off for lunch. However, you can stay on and complete the loop.
Paris by Mouth Food Tour
This was hands down the highest of our time in Paris. A friend had recommended we do a tour with Paris by Mouth and its something we recommend to everyone going to Paris. Get all the details in this post.
Picnic Dinner at Sacre Coeur in Montmartre
Grab grab a bottle of wine, a baguette, cheese, and charcuterie and head to Montmartre – the view from the top is absolutely gorgeous, the perfect place to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. After heading for cocktails in the sexy Le Très Particulier.
Picnic at Effie Tower
Head to a new neighborhood and pick up all the essentials for a perfect picnic at the Efile Tower. read all the details on how to do that here. Just bring sunscreen!
Sit, relax and enjoy and people watching, you are on vacation! You don’t have any obligation to do anything but chill, so chill!
Wine & Dine in Paris
There are so many restaurants in Paris it can be a little overwhelming to decided where to go. We were really HIT or MISS on our meals in Pairs so here were the best ones!
Frenchie – Frenchie was totally booked but the bartenders at Darcoc Bourse told us to try “Frenchies Wine to Go” so we put our names down and waited for a table. And y’all it was soooo worth it. Everything was delicious and I can’t recommend it enough! Besides the food tour, this was the highlight of our trip. We let our waiter order everything for us and it was perfection.
Pink Mama – Italian in pairs? Why not! This Big Mama of Italian restaurants has a few outposts around the city and the decor is to die for! Get in line early for a rooftop seat, we came later and ended up in the downstairs tiki bar which was so fun!
Ober Mama – From the same owners as Pink Mama, I read this was the spot to brunch. And it was oh so good! We were in line before it opened with about 10 other people but we could have easily gone later in the day and just waited a bit to get in.
Daroco Bourse – After a terrible drink experience near the Palais-Royal Garden we magically found ourselves here at the back bar. Our bartender took pity on our story and insisted we cancel our current dinner reservations and put our name in at Frenchies and he was so right. Another couple from the same terrible bar followed us here and we’re so happy they did as well. Gorgeous decor and great cocktails!
Madison Savage – While we did not eat here it’s the stuff of Instagram dreams! I wish we had eaten here even if the reviews are so so. The little area is gorgeous and so fun to walk around – not to be missed
Huitrerie Régis – Oysters please! We ate oysters around the corner from Mason Savage at Huitrerie Régis. It’s tiny and not the pretties but damn good. This little corner of Paris in Saint-Germain-des-Prés is a must-visit.
Hemingway bar the Ritz – When we arrive the Hemingway bar was full so we sat in the equally as beautiful bar across the hall. The Ritz is gorgeous and worth a visit, just be prepared to spend $20+ on each drink.
Like I said a quick guide to Paris! With Air France now doing direct flights from Denver to Paris I hope to go back and visit soon!
