I have never really felt the urge to drop out of a plane from 13,000 feet. I mean it seems awesome… But doing it in reality naaaaa, not for me. While I won’t jump out of a plane I do love a good adrenalin rush! A few years ago, I heard about these crazy awesome wind tunnels where you could simulate skydiving but in a totally safe environment! I knew this was something I would have to try out one day.
When iFLY Denver reached out to give it a shot I was STOKED. Clay, who is scared of heights was a little more hesitant. When we arrived at the center we were checked in and taken to a training room. We watched a quick (and funny) video about iFLY and the proper techniques and body position needed to enjoy our flight. Basically, all you need is a good belly posture and your instructor will lead the way. Super simple!
Within a few minutes, we were up suited up and ready to go. During my first flight, I had a little trouble getting my hands in the right position. With my instructor’s help, I got the hang of it and he let go! Then you totally “flying”! I was actually smiling and laughing the entire time! Which lead to drool ripping across my face because the wind was so strong haha. Flights are only a minute and go so so fast.
On the 2nd one minute flight, you had a better feel for what you needed to do and it was way easier to get into position. After flying a bit on my own my instructor grabbed on and took me on the “high flight” and we flew WAY up into the tunnel. Again I was laughing and smiling so much as we zipped and twirled around in the tunnel. It was such a crazy
& amazing experience I only wish it could have lasted longer!
iFLY was SO fun and easy. Not to mention so so safe, nothing about the entire experience seemed uneasy. Clay and I both felt totally comfortable and had the best time. While it was a rush, my stomach did not flip! So no need to worry about that!
