Blawg Questions
How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
Okay here is my elevator pitch history. I started Blue Mountain Belle when I moved to Denver in 2012 because I wanted to learn to code so that I could become a developer. Turns out I’m not the best at coding, so now I blog and manage developers in my day job.
Besides wanting to learn HTML and CSS, I already liked blogging! I had 2 very small inconsistent blogs in college and was ready to commit to one after moving to Colorado to share all my adventures and photos.
Do you blog full time?
Yes and I work full time too. My blog is not a side hustle or side project, its a full-time business that I spent an enormous amount of time on it. I also work full-time 9-5, five days a week.
Do you get a bunch of free stuff?
A bunch? No? Free stuff sometimes? Yes.
Will your blog about my cousin’s sisters friends product?
Probably not. But you can still email me about it. Contact form here.
Do you want to join my program and sell insert service/product here?
No.
How do you do both – Work full time and blog full time?
I spend A LOT of time on the computer and my phone. I try to get at least an hour of blog work in the morning before work. After work, I get an hour or two depending on if I have an event or Clay and I are doing date night. It’s def hard to find a balance but Clay is very super supportive. The biggest thing with blogging is that you are always on, there is always content to be made and things to share.
What do you shoot with?
I have a lot of cameras but most of the shots you will see on here are either with my iphone8+ or sony a6000
Sony Alpha 6000 is a great lightweight mirrorless camera perfect for travel. I shoot with two lenses. The Sony E 30mm f/3.5 fixed lens which is great food and travel and the Sony 50mm f/1.8 Lens that is perfect for style shots.
I also have a GoPro 4 and about and a very old canon rebel, which I use mostly for outdoor long exposures now.

#Channingandthecheeseplate
How did this become a thing? Well, I have always loved a good cheese plate. For years I had a little one every day when I came home from work. Camping food was always kind of blah so on a trip to Moab I decided to bring along some cheese plate essentials, for a camping cheese plate.
The next day we were cruising around Canyonlands and were getting pretty hungry so I create a cheeseboard right on the center console and my friends dubbed me Channing and The Cheese Plate. I loved it! I mused allowed about taking cheese plates everywhere and one day having a coffee table book – and that is still the dream! Read all about cheese plates here.
