Trip: Hiking
Length of Trip: Half Day
Trail: Bear Creek Trail
Length: 4.5 Miles RT
Elevation Gain: 1,000+
While I have only done a few hikes around Telluride Bear Creek Trail is pretty perfect. The trailhead starts right in town, which makes for an easy morning hike before heading to lunch or brunch. The trail is 4.5 miles round trip with a steep but short incline at the end to get up to the base of the falls. Worth it to get these incredible views!
Bear Creek Trail meanders through aspen groves before making a steep but assent to the base of the 80 foot Bear Creek Falls. The view looking back at Telluride is gorgeous. We hiked this in early September before the leaves had turned but this would be a great fall hike. Read more about the hike on All Trails.
