This month I am teaming up with one of my favorite new jewelry designers, Sarah Reusch of Say Reusch Studios. Sarah happens to be my best friend’s little sister and her family is basically my second family. Sarah recently launched her jewelry business in Charlotte, NC and can be found doing trunk shows across the South. We are giving away a $100 gift card to one lucky reader. To enter, like, tweet or follow us on social media with the widget bellow. In addition, this month Blue Mountain Belle readers can take 10% off their order with code BLUEMOUNTAIN.
What inspired you to start a Jewelry Line?
Certain life experiences have guided me to where I am now, for which I am grateful:
In November of 2013, I was 22-years-old and two weeks away from graduating college at Auburn University when my brother, Kendrick (28 at the time), passed away unexpectedly. Upon graduation, I moved home to Atlanta and began a job. Unsatisfied, I quit that job in January of 2015. With much thought and consideration, I compiled a list of all of my passions and hobbies and the outcome was to create my own jewelry line.
What are you favorite places to get beads?
I love road trips and traveling, so I frequently research weekend antique shows located throughout the southeast and head in that direction.
The horn was a big trend in 2015. What are the hot trends for 2016?
Time will tell what the hot trends of 2016 will be! 2015 was definitely the year of the bone tusk pendant; in 2016 you can expect to see variations of bone and antique pendants along with welded, steel pendants.
How do you get shit done aka GSD?
Shout out to Square, Inc. and Intuit Quickbooks…my business may not exist without these two reliable apps. I keep electronic and hard copies of spreadsheets, important documents, and receipts.
I use a plastic storage system and containers to keep all of my jewelry and tools in order. My favorite tool is the crimp bead fastener, which allows me to secure beads and successfully complete a piece of jewelry.
