My Austin Wine Country Bachelortte

Austin Lifestyle, Travel, United States

When most people think of an Austin Bachelorette they think hitting 6th Street, South Congress and Rainey, bar hopping and eating all the tacos they can handle. I had done big party bachelorettes and they were all so so fun but if I was going to have my very best friends all in one place together I wanted us to just be together. I didn’t want us splitting up into ubers, sitting at long tables or even having to get hit on by randos at a bar and dance to top 40 when Id rather be home jamming to phish, Taylor swift and favorite high school and college jams.

Custom Phish Themed Fanny Packs

You will only get to have your very best friends in one place at the very same time ONCE. Well technically twice cause your wedding but one weekend just you and the gals!

So I wanted a big house with a big pool somewhere warm and where we could be on the water… cause what’s better than being on the water all day – nothing! When my bestie throughout Austin we both knew it was a perfect choice and easy flying for all of us. We looked at the house all over Austin and Lake Travis but couldn’t find exactly what we wanted. Either no pool or an early curfew due to the close proximity of neighbors. I want to play phish as loud as possible past 10 PM and no one tells me to turn it off – LOL.

Kristina my soulmate, BFF, maid of honor found the perfect house outside Wimberly texas at Relic Ranch. This beautiful home was EXACTLY what I had always dreamed of and when we got there, it blew us out of the water.

While we had all the intentions to hit up some wineries we were so in love with ranch house we never made it to them!

Thursday = BBQ

Everyone flew into Austin throughout the day on Thursday. 3 of my friends and I got in around noon and had lunch in Austin then hit the grocery store for supplies. My MOH ordered all our food in advance so we just had to go and pick it up. Then we swung by the Costco liquor store before heading to the ranch. Wimberly is about a 45 min drive from downtown Austin so super easy!

For dinner, we headed to the famous Salt Lick BBQ in Dripping Springs, about 25 min drive from our spot. While they are known for their BBQ they also have a winery that does homemade pizzas on Thursday night!! Two other girls got in and met us for a beautiful dinner on their patio with huge treas and bistro lights draping over us.

It’s like they knew we were coming when the special app of the day was burrata! My sweet fiance sent our table 2 bottles of wine and the Bachelorette was officially on the way! While at dinner we put in an order of BBQ take out to eat for dinner Friday night.

Friday = Pool Day

We had everything we needed to do nothing but chill aka party by the pool all day. We were up early to cook breakfast then hop in the pool. It was a perfect day, it was hot but not too hot and the pool was the perfect temp. We grilled our burgers and dogs for lunch and the old school pool dance party got underway.

When the sun began to set we all cleaned up and as I was getting ready the girls set up the Lodge for my “lingerie party” it was perfect! They decorated everything and whipped up a spread of bbq and the party continued all night long.

Saturday = Boat Day

We knew the main event of the week would be taking a boat out on Lake Travis. We had two options a morning boat right or later afternoon. We opted for late afternoon so we could have a brunch and a lazy morning by the pool. This was perfect planning on my MOH part. It’s almost an hour to our boat pick up from the house so my MOH organized a party bus to come to pick us up – this was also perfect planning. Props to Kristina!

Honestly, these few hours that we spent on the boat especially while on the float were some of the best moments with my gfs that I will cherish FOREVER. Seriously, could not have been more special and perfect.
