Prismajic’s Shiki Dreams
I didn’t get a chance to visit Natura Obscura at the Museum of Outdoor Arts last year and have been kicking myself ever since. So when the Prismajic team reached out about their new experience Shiki Dreams I jumped at the opportunity to visit!
Prismajic is a full sensory experience, following a storyline they created with Natura Obscura of Shiki, the Japanese yeti. You began your experience at his home at the fishing hole, but when he falls asleep you travel through different dreamscapes. This place is an Instagram dream!
When you arrive you will check in outside and get the details on everything to look for throughout your 30-minute journey. Sight, sound, smell, and touch are all part of the experience. Prismajic has also incorporated some Augmented Reality experience you can access via their companion app. Once you download the app and pair it with your Bluetooth headphones you are ready to go.
The experience is designed by Jen Mosquera and a team of 25 artists. Jen creates the theme and designs the larger elements of each room then her team creates the smaller elements that fill each room. Like these tiny Japanese dream creatures, called Seishin, which you can find in each room.
Each room is so unique with amazing details you could truly spend hours exploring each little nook. Each room features an AR element that you can view with the companion app. Some rooms are scented with essential oils and others have interactive light shows.
From now till November 11th there are a few “Spooky” elements around as well. No, nothing scary! Just creative bits you will find throughout your experience.

Example of seeing AR via the app, and cleaning supplies!

Make it a date night
Make it a date and grab dinner from Cafe Miriam, a French Moroccan cafe right next door. For brunch and lunch, Cafe Miriam serves French cuisine like crepes. For dinner, the cuisine switches to Moroccan which is so so good! Put an order in before you start your experience so it’s ready to go when your done, or enjoy your meal outside on the socially distanced patio.

Seriously, you gotta check it out for yourself! Plus, Tickets are only $14.
