Bruschetta & Crostini the perfect antipasti. They are also words I struggle to pronounce, so, for now, I have no dub’d them Fancy Toast! And these MouCo fancy toast work for breakfast, brunch, lunch, snack, appetizers or dinner if you ask me.
While a traditional cheese plate is kind of my favorite meal and a go-to order, if I see Bruschetta on the menu or maybe a fig and goat cheese Crostini I’m pretty tempted to order one of those instead (or in addition)!
So they have always been an item I’d like to add to my personal repertoire of “mastered dishes”. Other master dishes include cheese plates, bacon and eggs, chili and a little something I like to call “Turkey, Turkey Yum Yum”. Which is basically a ground turkey stirfry with whatever is on hand… As you can see my “mastered dishes” needs some work and after my melted MoCou cheese plate last month I am ready to branch out!
I Pinterest’ed and googled Crostinis and Camembert to my heart’s content and decided on these four fancy toast recipes. Typically, these recipes call for goat cheese, ricotta or mozzarella but I felt like the flavors and consistency of the MouCo cheese would be perfect. And guess what? I was sooo right!

-
- MouCo Camembert with Prosciutto, Tomato & Balsamic Glaze
- MouCo Ashley with Bacon Onion Jam & Fig
- MouCo Truffalto with Pear, Walnuts & Honey
- MouCo Colorouge with Pepper Jam & Pecan
The ingredients for each of my delicious creations are pretty simple and you probably already have some on hand so you just need some MouCo Cheese!
MouCo Camembert with Prosciutto, Tomato & Balsamic Glaze
Similar to your classic Bruschetta but with delicious prosciutto and a creamy MouCo Camembert. This is basically my favorite pizza at a very personal five-bit size level. Like a super fancy bagel bite – I could live off of this.
MouCo Ashley with Bacon Onion Jam & Fig
Y’all, I made my own Bacon Onion Jam! I followed this recipe and it’s not as jammy as I thought It would be but wowie does it pack a lot of flavors. Perfectly paired with the smooth tartness of the Ashley its a perfect combination and a sweet little fig to ties it all together nicely.
MouCo Truffello with Pear, Walnuts & Honey
#truffles4life I knew the pairing of pear, walnut and honey would give the Truffello a little sweetness but not detract from the delicious truffle flavor of this cheese. Remember the dates on each cheese represent three ideal times to eat based on your preferences. This Truffello was right in the middle of “creamy and soft” yall it was divine.
MouCo ColoRouge with Pepper Jam & Pecan
The MouCo ColoRouge, to me is the most flavorful or as they say “palate-poppingly”of the MouCo cheeses so I wanted that flavor to shine. A sweet jam with a pecan topper is any cheese ideal combo… like peanut butter and jelly, popcorn and orange juice or Bugels and M&Ms… those might be only combinations I crave LOL. For my spice lovers, I used a Pepper Jelly that really made this MouCo Fancy Toast pop!
