The fall of my junior year of college, we were busy getting to know freshmen as potential rushies. I spent one night getting to know Dorothy Shain and totally formed a girl crush on this sweet southerner, she was poised, talented, funny and smart – the total package! We immediately became friends and while a few grades a part she was one of my favorites.
Fast forward to now and Dorothy has taken the art world by storm with her beautiful, fun and bright paintings of bathing suits, Charleston, Colorado and the Pacific Northwest. Not only do I admire Dorothy’s art but her work ethic and business sense. She’s nailed the Instagram game, creates cohesive collections and lands key collaborations all while staying so true to herself.
It’s been such a joy to watch her business grow and I was beyond stoked when she announced her collaboration with Anthropology! I mean can you imagine seeing your bathing suit sketches come to life!! Here are my favorite pieces from her collab as well as some of my favorite prints.
