Y’all! I have been missing out on life!! Dermaplaning is life changing! I seriously haven’t had a facial since Christmas 2007 – eek! I have always had sinus issues and really hate breaking in steam, it’s suffocating. So since then, I have passed on all facials. So silly…
Blondies The Beauty Shop reached out about a complimentary facial and blowout and I was stoked… for the blowout. A facial? Meh… However, it was actually perfect timing. I have been loving my Pangea Organics and been breakout free for months until lots of traveling and overindulging over the holidays had brought to life this huge bump on the side of my nose. Not a pimple a bump! The ones that really hurt. So I decided it was finally time so I booked an appointment and I am so happy I did it.
Reviewing My Skin
Stephanie was my asteticious and she practices what she preaches her skin is flawless. I let her know up front it had been years since my last facial so I was open to any treatment and I wanted to learn everything! Lucky for me, all of Stephanie facials are custom to her client. She first washes your face then examins your skin and ask questions about your current skin care regimen any medical history and then decides on a plan of action.
Dermaplane & Exfoliation
Stephanie suggests we start with Dermaplane, and well Dermaplane is my new bestie. Dermaplane is a manual exfoliation technique where the aesthetician scrapes the skin with a medical grade knife removing all of the dead skin and little hairs all over your face. The pic below is my dead skin – so gross – but oh so satisfying. Why? Your skin needs a good shed! After Dermaplane your skin is more receptive to all the products you put on your face plus its smooths you out for all the make up your going to put on.
After Dermaplane was an additional gommage style exfoliation. Stephanie suggested adding 305 exfoliate to my routine. She rubbed the all natural serum all over my face, which quickly dried on to my skin. next, she rubbed off the exfoliant deep cleaning all of my pores.
This is where she really got into my pores. I had a few little areas that needed some work but a lot of the focus was the pores around my nose. Again sinus and allergy issues have my blowing my nose at least 20x a day. It’s always red and flakey!
Hydration Time
After exfoliation its time for hydration. An essential oil mist saturated my face with moisture and was massaged in. Next a hydrating clay mask to set in the moisture. While my mask set I was treated to an acupressure massage on my shoulders and neck (yes pleaseeee).
After my facemask was washed off Stephanie finished with a hydrating serum, moisturizer, eye cream and of course SPF! Seriously I got the works and if felt so freaking amazing.
After
Stephanie was so sweet and walked me through the entire process. I asked a lot of questions and she had all the answers. I left feeling like my skin was alive! It’s been dead and dormant and now its glowing. I am 10000000% sold on facials especially the Dermaplane. Stefanie suggests coming back monthly and I am going to try and stick to that. With my crazy schedule, it will probably be every other month. but I sware on my dead skin I will never wait another 10 years!
I am writing my first draft of this post only a few hours after my skin still feels flowing! I am now finishing this post two weeks later and my skin still feels so good!
