Barbour (J. Barbour & Sons Ltd) started in 1894 in South Sheilds, England. Specializing in wax-coated cotton the jackets were originally made as motorcycle jackets. The jackets today are synonymous with the English countryside and hunting.
The Acorn is the classic Barbour jacket. Its wax-cotton finish is water repellent and tough, you will not easily snag or rip this baby. I also love the slightly longer length of the jacket, great for keeping your behind warm too! This particular style comes with an optional quilted vest that can be zipped in and out.
With a price point of $349, it may seem expensive but I have totally gotten my monies worth over the past 8 years I have owned it. I actually have a girlfriend who wears her moms! I plan to have mine forever as well.
P.S. The Acorn jacket in navy is currently $259!
