I came across the band Typhoon on Spotify a few months ago and really dig their sound. Dreams of Cannibalism was the first song that turned me on, the next song was Hunger & Thirst. Both songs have a similar feeling but totally different sounds and vocals. Well lo and behold the band is comprised of 11, yes eleven members. Each member of the band sings plus plays an instrument ranging from violin to trumpet to guitar. Each song is a full composition involving the entire band with different harmonies. I have not heard anything about their live performance but I am sure with an 11 person band its a sight to see.

This Oregon indie band formed in 2005 and according to their wikipedia page made it pretty big in 2011. They are currently touring to promote their latest album, White Lighter. I hope to catch them in Denver this April. Check them out at SXSW, Dallas or 9:30 club this spring. Typhoon will also be playing Bonnaroo this summer, I am sure they will become a popular act on the festival circuit.
