Trolltunga in Hardanger, Norway – On the Bucket List
New year, new me! Here are my New Year’s resolutions, or revolutions…
1.Climb Two More 14ers – I completed one in 2012 and attempted another in 2013 but had to stop when my hip flexors gave out. Besides just hiking more I want to complete two 14ers or more in 2014.
2. Learn To Code – master HTML & CSS and learn SQL and Ruby. (Want to learn too? Ill be post the best places to learn next week!)
3. Be A Fearless Skier – Ski a Black Diamond & something with moguls without crying or falling. Trust me, I have been down both but not on purpose.
4. Read For Pleasure – I read a lot, but mostly articles, never books and never for pleasure. I am a sucker for a teen romance novel – not that I need to read any more of those! I am thinking of readingThe Goldfinch, The Luminaries or Pilgrim’s Wilderness – any other suggestions?
5. Exercise On The Reg – 3 times a week, every week, for the rest of my life.
6. Email – I love to email but now the little bubble on my iPhone reads 440 unread messages – yikes! It’s this low-grade stress in my life that is just not worth it. Unsubscribe and delete are my new friends.
7. Save Save Save – not Spend Spend Spend, with 5 weddings already planned for 2014 + Phish Tour, I need to save save save! Less careless spending and more saving!
8. Photograph More – I know my someone is rolling their eyes at this, but recently I have stopped taking as many photos as I used to. Not just photos of me doing super awesome things, but photographing and actually posting it. I am behind about 20 post on shows – sorry! As part of my photograph more pledge – I am going to be highlighting some of my favorite photographers, camera’s apps, and tools!
9. Complete My List (in a more timely manner) – Am the only one who struggles to go to the dry cleaners, I mean its 2 blocks from my office but for some reason I can only go once a season… So my resolution is to actually complete my millions of list in a more timely manner.
10. Stretch
11. Last year I blogged about this Duane Allman quote from his diary in 1969. I think these are great words to live by, and a reminder to be grateful for our short time on this earth.
Happy New Years & Happy Weekend!
